Co. Limerick, May 6th 2010

Sat May 08, 2010 11:33 am

People: Me and Gearoid

Duration: 6:30pm till after 10pm

Tide: 18:24 (2.0m) 00:42 (3.7m)

Weather:Sun and clouds with northerly breeze choping water

Bait: eel, mack, squid

Rigs: I used pulley penels with 3/0/2/0 and 4/0/4/0

Results: I had 3 dogs, a 1lb 12 oz strap and a 30cm whiting

Report: Had fish spaced throughout the session with the strap and whiting near the end. Had to head back to the car early on and when I came back and reeled in the bait it was half gone. A while later I got a doggy and it spat out the sand eel I'd baited up with earlier. Next bite I missed as I didn't leave the bait out long enough and I also missed a bite near the end due to to large a bait on on the 3/0/2/0 penel. Gearoid had a good few bites but only connected up with one dog.

I didn't expect much with the northerly and it could of done with a bigger tide but I have had some of my best sessions here on a neap flooding tide.
