Report:
for some reason i woke up early in the morning ( 8am ) and the light of the day was shining in, so i knew it was going to be another cracker of a day.. so i sent herself a txt (woke her..

revenge is sweet )
and after a few txt's back and forth i changed her mind from doing a spring clean to taking me fishin
she arrived a while after and it was time to see would any of my rods fit in the car (because i just about fit in it as it is), but surprisingly enough i managed my zzippy profile and a rod nige left behind for use..
hit the road and in no time the music was blasting out Now Thats What I Call Music (the very first one), with a quick stop off at a beach along the way we hit the road again but only for a few minutes..
pulled up to the numbers and had a walk to find a good spot, i wasnt in the mood for climbing, or should i say my knee was killing me from the night before (wedding gigs are fun to play, but play havoc on the knee when setting up and pulling down the equipment).. so it was a high mark 80+ foot to the water..
set myself up first and then proceeded to be bombarded with a multitude of questions on what i'm doing and why.. thank god i brought the fixed spool cos the look i was given when i took out a multiplier was priceless.. so second rod set up and instructions to watch me closely as i cast and explained everything in slow motion first... and fishing was under way..
now this is a mark where bus loads of tourists get dropped off to look at the beautiful scenery so i was expecting the odd question or dozen.. but thankfully her wild swinging of the rod scared a few from coming close as i was balled up in laughter

so another tutorial was given.. and another.. until the bail arm was finally remembered
the first fish went for the nearest bait, but someone was too busy sunning themselves to worry about the commotion going on with the ratchet on the fixed spool.. until a fish appeared by my side it was all 'yeah sure you have a fish'..
but i was told to get a pic with her holding the fish that she *caught*
thankfully soon enough my rod was bouncing away the tripod, so i made sure i got a pic of that one
and then all went quiet for a couple of hours except for the odd tourist walking by..
then as i reeled in a whole sandeel i saw a pollock chasing it.. quite a good sight from high up through polarised glasses.. a couple of miss takes it finally found the hook

and another fish was landed for me.. about 2lbs, and this one she wanted to touch.. well what happened next had me in stitches laughing for the rest of the day.. and never have i seen this happen before.. as i held the fish so she could stroke the belly of the fish, and just at the perfect time.. the pollock decided to milt all over her hand.. it wasnt until i told her what it was she then started to freak out.. which literally had me on the rocks holding my self trying no to explode with laughter.. thankfully i brought a bottle of water.. it took quite a few mouthfuls (of water) to eventually catch my breath again.. then told her she could wash her hands
fishing went slack again and we were getting rather hungry so packed up and headed for morans weir in kilcolgan for crab claws and baked salmon...
