Weather:snow gale sleet hail

Bait:lug crab razor mackeral

Rigs:2 up 3 hook flapper

Results:2 bass 11 flounder




Report:headed to kerry yesterday as working friday missing annual retreat, left at 9 straight from nights snow greeted me at top of mountain and stayed most of day.dug lug on route arrived at beach at midday.conditions looked good nice surf and no weed to be seen fingers crossed.set up two rods one close for flats one out for others.there was one good gale blowing right to left
first two cast nothing then third cast bang distance rod hooped over and stayed down quick strike(unnecessary) bass on felt like good fish and took off down left i had to follow while adjusting my drag got him turned and lead him ashore a few minutes later after good scrap beached fine 68cm 7.5 lb bass first of the year good start photo recast reeled in other to find first of many flats from 26cm to 38cm.all flats caught very close even managed a double not twenty feet out the distance rod only managed one more fish a schoolie bass.only took photos of bass and scenery due to driving gale

Well done Steven. Great bass. Sure beats the fishing locally at the moment....although, the flounder have reappeared.

no luck with the razor meant to say all fish took lug or crab

yeah its poor alright at mo Pat but it wont take long for it to improve i believe there was one or two silver bar caught locally over laast couple days and yeah flounder back some decent fish among them

Well done! that's a great bass you had there.
The weed was back last night :( no wind but the surf picked up near hw, I'm sure it drifts around from the mussel dredgers and the grass from the dissapearing dunes, it a pain on there, managed a 1.5lber on razor, only 2 flounder though.
