3rd Ben Beach 1lb 2oz
HR - Ben Beach, Al Williams & David Garvan each with a coalfish of 3oz
HF - Al Williams, Flounder 10oz (28cm)
Report: It was slow to start during daylight with only a few flounder picked out of the surf. Just after 2 hours into the match the sun dropped and hordes of fish moved in. Most members were getting treble shots each cast but on average only one fish was in size each time. Still it kept the 6 members that fished on their toes for another 4 hours. In the closing hour of the match as the tide dropped some bigger flounder moved in keeping the competition going for the heaviest flat fish pools. A great nights fishing.

We use a length to weight conversion chart the same used by SAMF and similar to that at the Daiwa Irish Pairs. Not single fish but not bad weights for this time of year.

Hi there Al,
The main load of information was colleceted by a marine biologist then developed into the scoring chart by SAMF (Darren Phillips), myself and another member from my old club and I hold a master copy. I only wish all the clubs here would use it as fishing for length is pump and unfair. I don’t like to see a skinny 50cm silver eel or garfish beat a nice 3lb flounder and the set sizes of fish like doggies and rays. A fish is a fish to me; only wish I could catch a doggie at the minute. None have been caught in the club for 6 matches now.
