Hi Cortaz,

I was actually chatting to you when you were out––I was bait fishing to the right of the rocks. I knew that I knew you from somewhere: it was only after you'd gone that I realised it was from the edition of Sea Angler you were in a while back. If I'd known I was dealing with the famous Cortaz I would have plagued you with questions for the whole afternoon :) :) :)

Caught nothing either after you'd left. What made fairly frustrating, though, was that I could see either big bass or big coalies jumping about 200 metres out for all the time I was on the beach, so I knew they were there. I suppose it was just one of those occasions where being a tournament caster would have paid off ...

Cheers,
Lodore

Ya tough going at the moment.I have'nt even thought about the lures due to lo water temps but this week may see a change in fortune with the rising temps. They are about :wink:but even baitfishing they have been very slow and interestingly this week some bigger fish have moved in but they are taking like small flatties drop the hook sizes and hold the rod, should hook a few.
This will be the week for a change in fortunes for us all,I HOPE.
Tight lines

Don't think I ever remember a Cortaz report resulting in a blank! Temperature should start rising shortly though.

There's no hope for the rest of us if you arn't catching them Art.
I tried a bit of lure fishing myself on Sunday in West Cork - the sea was like a pond but the water was crystal clear - but unfortunately not a fish to be seen. However, I wasn't really expecting to catch anything - it was more to investigate a new bass mark that somebody told me about last year.

The water was probably too cold and clear. As there were so many of us out I reckon we would have caught a fish if they were there. Sure the crack was mighty anyway!!! Roll on summer. I'm feeling lucky!!!!!!
