Fishing, wanging and celebretys

Sat Feb 20, 2010 8:54 pm

People:Dennis, Staffo and me

Duration: 12.30 to 6:30

Tide:all over the place

Weather:Perfect

Bait:Lug, wraps, mackeral

Rigs:2 and 3 hook flappers, up and overs, loop rigs, 2 hook clipped and pulleys

Results:Flounders and coalies.

Report:We decided to get in a days casting practice with a meet coming up at the end of the month, and combine it with a bit of fishing and we coulnt have picked a nicer day for it. We got fish from the start and Dennis hopped off flounder all day he must have had 20 odd of them, so all be warned Brock has learned how to fish for flounder  , Staffo got his fair share and I didnt get as much as the lads even though I fancy myself as a flounder Catcher :) A few coalies came on for an hour or so and kept us busy.We got some great casting practice in with Dennis finding a swing that realy suits him, he was milling leads out 8) Staffo fell in love with the ian golds extractor and I was pleased with the way I was hitting them especialy when I used Dennis's zziplex HST.We Also met Shane Byrne the former Irish rugby star who was jogging with his dog, Dennis spotted him a mile off with his tree trunk legs and trademark mullet :D we challenged Staffo to charge at him and tackle him but he thought better of it in the end, just as well cos i reckon Staffo would hasve snapped like a twig  A great day out, pleanty of fish, good practice and a beautiful day, what more could you ask for?

i recon staffo would have had shane no bother, seriously though shane looked like a rhino running down the beach, intimidating enough when he is just jogging towards you  imagine him about to tackle you :(

Great day indeed and cheers to the lads for the invite, Tea Cakes and bait! How could I refuse! :D

I just noticed on a rugby forum a post by Shane Byrne saying he saw Flounder legend Denis Brock on a beach yesterday with Sod and Staffo. :D
