People: 3 Members Millisle SAC - David McCormick, Bingham, Drew

Duration: 6pm - 10.30pm

Tide: HW @ 2045 App.

Weather: Cold, Calm and quite nice!

Bait: Mackeral, Sandeel, Squid, Lug, Prawn, Crab

Rigs: 1 - 3 Hook Patt. Conger Gear.

Results: 3 Bearded Rockling! Shore Rockling, Codling, Coalfish, Whiting and Flounder

Report:

Seems to be the time of year for a Rockling hunt, So Davy suggested a trip up the Coast for a few hours to try for the blighters.
Fishing started well with my first 3 Beard this year, Not Big, Probably around 6oz, But good to get anoter for the list.
Meanwhile Bringham hit a few fish @ distance, With Codling, Whiting, and a Flounder to show for his efforts.
Dave Had a better rattle on the Mini Rod which Produced a 1lb7oz 3 Beard, Close but no Cigar eh?

Fishing was good, until 2 divers decided they'd come right along below where we were fishing. There friend came along the pier and said they were coming our way, and my heart sank..... I'm my mind I had one of those moments where I put on an 8oz Pirk and started jigging. They passed, got the gear back in, then I saw one of our party jigging for divers with conger gear! (mentioning no names, but good on them!)

After the Divers everything went stone dead quiet, and except for a few small fish it was very slow after that. Gutted.

Anyway, Here's the pics!

Was the member of your party fishing with a big mac pennel rigged on two 6/0 hooks?

That was pretty crap they spoiled what was proving to be a good trip. Well the mark will always keep boys. At least you got fish and the target as well.

Well done lads in getting out there and getting some results. There can be some good Rockling caught a bit closer to home in Strangford Lough. :D
