People:
Waterville sac 16bodies
Duration:1330-1830
Tide:low at 1615
Weather: calm slight s/e breeze. no rain
Bait:various maddies for my fish
Rigs:2up 1 down
Results:flounder bass 1 minature turbo 9cm
Report:things started pretty slowly for me i was peg 14. in three casts there were already reports of flats coming in on the lower pegs too many for my liking ha ha for some reason the flats seemed to be staying out a bit further than usual in the 50-70 bracket. a nice bunch of maddies accounted for my first fish and the 2nd soon after. meanwhile in my capicity as steward i had already wrote in 4fish for the eventual winner! low tide brought on a bit of a lull around the beach.
at this stage three flounder and a bass seemed to be winning the beach but with the anglers you never know!!when the tide began to flood and started to darken the fishing started to pick up i added another two flats bringing me to four only to mark in another two fish for the leader 1 bass 1 flat. i managed to pull 7 flounder in the end for second place though 4 flounder and 2 bass won it the superior combined lenght won the day! all anglers had fish with the biggest bass 39 and biggest flat37. the weather was fantastic its just a pity we dont get it more often!!

Hi Sully,
Good to read your report.
I stayed in Glenbeigh a couple of years ago during the summer, nice place but I found it diffcult to get any info on Rossbeigh Strand and tended to fish Kells Bay and Coolanna instead. However, would love to have another crack at the strand again sometime possibly later this year. In your opinion when is the best time of the year to fish, tides etc also what about bait etc anywhere around Cahersiveen for fresh or frozen stuff?
