Barking Bray

Sun Jan 31, 2010 2:00 pm

People:Me and the dog(Chance)

Duration:6:00-8:00

Tide:Low

Weather:Cold but dry

Bait:Lug,mac,sandeel,squid(all frozen)

Rigs:Flapper,pulley

Result:1 coalfish,2 whiting(I think anyway  )

Couldn't sleep so I decided to go fishing.Took the dog with me because his normally howls when I leave the house and I didn't want to wake up the hole neighbourhood. She was deep in sleep and I just scroll out 8) .I arrived in Bray and was cold but no wind and no sign of rain.
I set up one rod close in with a flapper and one out(my far out distance is 50-60 yards I ll say  ) with pulley hopping for a dogfish.
The all thing was to noisy with Chance barking in every cast or reeling in(dog with issues  )Is only his second time out fishing and still cant realise that not every time I throw something is for him to get  .Anyway back to fishing..second cast gave me a whiting of 25cm..not bad I thought :D .After an hour or so the :? far out :? rod didn't do any...(maybe because the distance I was wondering  )and I pack it away.
In this stage I brought Chance back in the warmth of the van blame him that his barking scare all the fishes away.
After that I took my scratch rod out and in the first cast I got a coalfish of 22cm..happy days :D .
The wind start picking up then and as people start walking the pier as well I decided to start packing up.
Think was the fear as well of somebody coming giving out about the lousy dog :?
I was reeling in the close in rod as the last packing and I found another whiting in the end.Didn't even see it coming  I ll say was around 20cm.
As I was reversing the pier the snow start coming down.Thought to myself..No better time than this man 8)
A good few hours fishing with new species and a bit more practice for my cast..A..and a headache of Chance's shouting
Hope didn't weak up anyone
(If I didn't got the species right please correct me.Thanks)

Till next time ...Tight Lines
