report:
Had planned this trip for bout a week, headed off towards carrigaholt first, in hope of a conger, but the wind was howlin about the end of pier, makin it hard to fish there, and with the tide droppin, my rigs kept ending up in snags..... no conger, but had my usual scratchin rod out and had coalfish, codling , whiting and pollock to entertain me...
we packed up bout 6, and went to check into our hotel, then fished a beach mark from low water- the gales blowin into our faces was crazy, but wrapped up warm so turned our backs to it and it was grand.... beautiful surf running, but after bout 2 hours there, not a bite... decided to move to another beach I knoiw that would be gettin cross winds instead and hopefully sheltered as it was in a cove... first cast here and I was gettin bites- that bass tug!

had a few missed bites, 2 slack lines and had 2 fish on , only to lose them... but then I managed to get one, not a beast, only 2.5lb but a bass is a bass.... bites dropped off as high tide approached. Got a double shot of coalfish on last cast, my mate richie also got 1 coalfish on last cast to save the blank.....
got out again friday, but after 4 hours into beautiful flooding surf- nothing but wind burn!!! big red faces when we went off and drank all the whiskey in a bar we frequent over there.... will head back soon chasing those spiky hoors again, Love the atlantic to fish in...
tight lines people..

also, chack out the bite outta the wee fella, poor chap, but seemed alrgith so popped him back ..
