Tullagh Strand

Fished Tullagh strand today with a friend he caught this his first flounder over a pound and in good nick, sea was on rise didnt have a bite the rest of day. Also fished Culdaff pier and other anglers we spoke to had the same results nothing.

that's a fine flounder marco, just a pity there was'nt more of them for you. sure there's always next time man :)

cracker of a flounder marrco7 8) nice one. that spot fishes its best at low water and down to the right hand side...

fished this beach a couple of times myself.. plenty of turbot on that beach as well... I have heard of bass being caught of the same beach

Thanks for the comments guys and I have to say that as I said in the report my friend caught this fish, his first flat fish which greatly pleased him. Its a lovely part of the world with alot of scope for exploring new marks. I thought we would have got more but we were perhaps at the wrong end of that beach as a river flows into the far end. Does anyone know if there is a way down to the far end of that beach near the river.

drive from tallagh back in to comanny, when you cross the bridge take the road to the left, think the sign says Binion bay, travel the road till you come to a very sharp right turn, go straight on and that will take you to the mouth of the river, or turn up the sharp right and follow that road till it comes to a dead end. you can then cross the wee walkway and fish the other side of the river,
p.s. if you fish the other side of the river, go up over the small banking and fish off the rocks, great spot for the pollock in the summer months, hope this is of help to you...
