The Report:
Ken had asked if I wanted to venture down to wexford, so after rustlin up some bait, headed off down, aiming for ballinoulart.... got there and the surf looked great!!! Looks can be deceivin though...
grass and debris just constantly kept wrappin around our lines, draggin em down the beach... we were bringin in more bait than we were puttin out with lumps of broken razor and mini mussels covering our rigs, at one stage I even reeled in to find a huge black lug wrapped around my swivel, not one of my worms....Ken managed to find a flounder attached to his rig, so no blank for him.... I rang saltydog for advice on the beaches but he said if one was weedy, most of em would be , so I decided for the lesser option, Cahore, as thought the headland would block alot of the debris washin about..
got there, ken quickly got a shore rockling, myself still blanking, then I started to get fish, well, baby fish, what I thought were whiting but now think were light coloured coalfish, shore rocking and a tiny, somewhat ugly codling...in the end had 4 coalfish, 2 rockling and a codling...
A long way to go for such a small yield, but it's always nice to get out....
tight lines folks...
hopefully my next report shall be sporting Cod like the Ennerielly beast up here , well done man..
