salthill beach, 17-1-10

Mon Jan 18, 2010 10:06 pm

People:myself and chris

Duration: chris; 4pm - 6.30 pm
myself; 4pm - 8 pm

Tide: high at around 6.20 pm

Weather: strong wind, cold enough

Bait: mack, squid

Rigs: 3 hook flappers
long and low

Results:chris; 4 coalies, 2 whiting,
myself; 16 coalies, 2 whiting,

Report: had a couple of hours to spare s we said we'd head down for a while, reached the beach at around 4pm greeted with a strong, chilly wind, set up our rods, myself just putting a flapper in close and chris putting a flapper in close and a long and low out further, fishing was extremely slow with no fish to show for our efforts after almost two hours!! with the tide almost fully in and the brightness fading the fish slowly but surely started to show, i was first off the mark with a double of coalies closely followed by chris with a double of coalies also, he got a whiting on the rod out far too, chris got another double of coalies and a whiting before he had to go just after the fishing started to improve, i got a good few more doubles of coalies before my last cast bringing in a double of whiting, overall a very enjoyable session, cant wait to get out soon again! :D

p.s sorry about no pictures, my memory card doesn't seem to be working properly! :?
