Results:10 codling/1 coalie




Report:got some new hooks in the post and ditched the cheap crap i had been using so had to go fishing. down to youghal met bhoy32s bro for some peeler (cheers 8) ) and off i went. a bite a cast for the night missed some very good bites and also connected with a few good bites which turned out to be foul hooked fish. great nights fishing with the best fish being about 2lb. also i will never whinge again about fishing in our normal winter fishing temps there was even frost on my whellies last night :shock: :roll: :twisted:

Nice size of a codling. Fair play to ya for braving the elements and getting out for a few casts. Nice to see a few good fish getting caught around cork.

Now this is what i call a sophisticated forum where technological developments continue to astound me "Back To THe Future" with Seanie 35 what are the roads going to be like tomorrow night Sean cos that sounds like good fishing i will join you there and catch a few myself!

well done seanie,some nice codling there,wish we could get a few keepers but the roads to the few spots where its possible are impassible :evil:

well done seanie :P cod and chips,,, mmmmmmhhhhh. salt, vinegar and red sauce. (right,, quit it Al before you drool all over the keyboard :roll: ). a good reward for braving the elements man. our marks are throwing them up, to only about a pound and a pound and a half :roll: :roll: :roll: hardly worth keeping,, but we live in hope :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

cheers al its all ready for tonites dinner along with a bit of brill i got my grubby hands on, cod was just about a keeper think they are there in plague proportions :shock:

pat that reel you sold me is amazing it somehow allows me to cast 2 days into the future, you didnt by any chance buy it from an old guy in a white coat :wink:

it had a lot of growing to do before it got to the size of what was swimming around youghal a few years back but an improvement on recent catches by 7cm :lol:, junior conger the mark was the carpets in youghal

Nice session Seanie. Real winters dinner tonight. What were the hooks you got? I've been using the Mustad 3/0 Bass Point hooks for the Cod this year. I find them a good strong hook for the snaggy marks and they'll pull through the kelp if caught. Mind you I still have to beat the 2lb mark.

howdy connor, they are a mustard uptide hook 4/0 i was using the cheapest yokes going off ebay and missing a few fish

Yup I did fall for the bulk packs of Kamasan's last year off ebay. Waste of money and lesson learnt! :oops:

Well done seanie that was a nice session ,looks like the codling
are starting to move inshore, im sure it wont be long before we see
a double figure fish from cork or waterford :lol: :lol:

Nice fishing Seanie. Cod grow quicker than bass. Should be a few 4 pounders next year. 2010 looks like a good year.
