People: myself & conor
Duration: 6pm - 9.30pm
Tide: high water at 9.30pm
Weather: clear & cold
Bait: frozen rag, frozen crab, squid and razorfish
Rigs: 2 hook flappers with a flounder trace on the end (whatever that’s called)
Results: 3 rockling and a plaice
Report: Decided to head out for the 1st time this year, with all our new fishing gear that we got at Christmas went to a local beach were there are reports of good cod being caught. Got a rockling first cast and then went quite for an hour or so, then caught another rockling, went very quite so we decided to bait up once more, reeled in and discovered a plaice had taken the lug on the flounder trace, baited up and out again. Our fingers started to get numb so we decided to call it a night, conor reeled in a rockling, good not to have a blank on our first outing of the year, fingers are still a bit numb today.
Species 2010 (2) rockling, plaice.
