Sun Jan 03, 2010 10:25 pm

People- A Mate (Curtis) and Myself
Duration- 2.30pm-6.45pm
Tides- Drop
Weather- Nice, but a bit cold
Rigs- pulleys, conger rigs, 2 up 1 downs and 2 and 3 hook Flapper
Baits- Mack, Lug, White Rag, Rag, Sandeel and Squid
Results- Curtis- 2 Codling and 2 Pouting and a Velvet Crab
Me- 12 Pollack (to 20cm), 1 coalie (22cm), 6 Codling (to 25cm), Pouting (to 19cm) and a Poorcod (12cm)

Report- I texted Curtis a few Days back to see if he fancied heading out fishing tonight, he said yea he would come, so we hit the Dee at around 2.30pm, in the Day light fishing was slow, a few slight rattles and a Velvet Crab, as it began to get dark bites were more frequent and i started with 2 very small Pouting at around 10cm. Curtis then got a 16cm Pouting, after this is i got a 15cm Pouting, a 19cm Pouting and a 25cm Codling, this was followed by a nice 22cm Coalie, after this i continued to get Codling, Pouting and a plague of small pollack to 20cm started, in this session i also had a run from a conger, but i think i may have struck into it a bit early, best bait was Rag and Mackerel. All in all a fantastic Session and i look forwar to getting out again.

Dan if you havent caught a conger at the Dee by now you have probably left it to late. Im not saying you wont get one but there are better venues close to you for congers.
