Report:
First club meeting of Millisle Sea Anglers Shore Section, and I've got to say it was a total success! The McKees sorted the pegging out and we drew Pegs @ 630pm, and were setting up by 640.
Fishing began bang on 7pm, I got a rockling first chuck and wasn't sure how the rest of the club were doing later heard reports of Codling in the Mid 20s range being caught mid beach. The next 3 hours were painstaking for me, as I kept catching fish in the 17-18cm Range. 11 in total.
Meanwhile other club members were bagging up and a respectable 92cm won the competition for Harry McKee Snr.
All in all, a great first comp and can't wait for the next one!

nice to get something new up and running and get it right! its not easy picking marks in advance the way fishing can turn on and off so quickly ,not to mention the weather

well done lads

As far as I know Phil its 20cm for everything but dogs which are 45cm.
It made a nice change from fishing on a boat but that sand gets everwhere

. I wasnt in the competition myself as it was my first beach fishing session in years [I had to learn how to cast again] but it was good craic. It was nice to get a few fish off the shore again, looking forword to the next one

Loads of weed down our End Dan, saw that was causing you problems, When its like that try to keep the rod tip up as much as possible. Think it was a good idea getting my 16ft Rod, lol.... This is the first oppertunity I have had to talk about the session as I've been posting on my phone.
I have to say I didn't think Ballyh could fish like that and believe it would be a perfect practice venue for us.
Looking foreword to Ballyhalbert in a couple of weeks.
Once again I'd appeal for anyone in the North Down area to consider joining us.
