Ballyoulart, Wexford

Tue Dec 29, 2009 10:59 pm

People:Me

Duration:13.00 - 16.00

Tide:on the rise

Weather:sun, cloud, cold wind

Bait:lug + mussel

Rigs: single clipped down

Results: 1 flounder (I think) + 1 Coalfish (again, I think)

Report: Had my fill of turkey and crackers so decided to hit the beach for a few hours to clear the cobwebs. Things were quiet not alot happeningWas joined by my sister/brother in law and there two children Jamie and Grainne. Got a small rattle on the rod and reeled in the flounder. You will note from the picture below that a whiting (which had seen better days) is included. This was found on the beach by Grainne and she insisted that it be included in the pic. He was even put back in the sea to be caught another day......

About a half hour later got another small rattle and reeled in what I think is a small coalfish. I thought it was a whiting at first (not the fella mentioned above). Can anybody confirm?

Nothing much happening after the coalie. The folks headed home but before doing so gainne made me a sand castle/man to keep me company. Thank you Grainne! Decided to call it a dy at 4 o'clock and packed up. Went to the pub to warm up and have a few pints of the blackstuff ........and very nice they were too!

Few photos attached.

Happy New Year to ye all!
