Report:we had intended to fish off mutton island but after a 2 km walk we reached the lighthouse, We discovered we had two options to go left onto an ice sheet, or, right , onto the roughest ground you could imagine. We took the rough ground option, we walked for for 5 minutes and realised it would take about 30 minutes to get to a place we didnt know much about. We decided to cancel this trip and headed to a nearby estuary which none of us had ever fished before. After another 1.5km walk we reached the estuary. various baits went out in differant distances, not much was happening until i pulled out a small coalie. We packed up after a few casts looking forward to our big walk home! Used my new hsm tonight, fantastic rod..

heard ye were going to fish mutton, not the best place tto fish when the weather is like this though..
Hi smiliejp, there are quite a few marks which are rather local (inner bay) that would be good to try out, i've been told of a few marks and i know a few lads who would also be willing to head out and try for a few marks

got most of the way out then realised it would be a further big walk over seriously rough ground, between that and the weather we decided not too..would love to try it sometime though

yeah, its definitely a deep water mark, and is a good spot to fish, getting there without being noticed is the key..
