Arrived at the first beach to be greeted be a small but promising swell, unfortunately there seems to have been great big rafts of weed out among the breakers which pulled me about 150yds along the beach before I could get my gear back pulling in with each wave and running down the beach with each back wash so packed up and moved to another local small beach, great action lots of coalies but nothing over 24cm and 4 flounder ranging from 20-28cm they all even gave as good a bite as the coalies, even had a few coalie/flounder doubles. But after a few hrs the tide pushed me up off the feature I was fishing so I headed 6 mile up to a little pier mark that doesnt see to much action and managed to land a wee 8lb 98cm strap congeron the herring head+guts, waste not want not
managed one dogfish before I packed up for the evening. Although it did feel like one of those evenings when I could have stayed out catching fish all night.
But alas the codling that are appearing around the rest of our countries shore didnt play ball, guess that means I'll have to get another few trips before the year is out
