Duration: 16:00-20:00
Tide: LW @ 20:00
Weather: Dry no wind
Bait: Everything
Rigs: Various
Results: Coalfish, Whiting, LSD
Report: Last leg of our Master Angler and 6 competitors braved the cold and descended on Renvyle. It was apparent from the outset that weed was going to be a major factor. All along the beach there was a bank of thick solid kelp stretching out about 20 yards a slog fest ensued with masses of weed being hauled in and rigs being lost very tough going. As the tide dropped more weed was being left on the beach with some rafts still causing problems on the low pegs... I managed to the land the first fish a wee coalie. Nige on the peg next to me wasn't long behind with double coalies to start he followed that up with a dog and a good whiting. The anticipated coalie bash never took off with fish proving to be very scarce water like soup and weed to blame... with Nige and myself the only ones to catch. Congrats to Nige on winning his first club comp and sadly his last for the time being as he's off to the states shortly, hopefully he'll continue his winning ways whenever he returns. Well done also to Vinny on his first comp well prepared and put in a good effort conditions weren't favourable so next comp for him will be a breeze. Results were as follows:
1st - Nigel Melvin Peg 10 Fish 4 Points 99
2nd - Conor Mountaine Peg 9 Fish 1 Points 17
