The Report:
Herself had a saturday off , which is a rarity, so we headin off to the house in wexford on friday night. Only got down at 2am, so no fishin, just wine and pizza and a dvd....
Awoke Saturday to the nasty sound of a storm tryin to get in, so I did what every hardcore fisherman does- I rolled over and went back to sleep for a few hours... woke up later and it had eased, so off we went to cahore pier, as I figued the pier would give us some shelter :o I was wrong....
The tide was apparently half way on teh ebb, but in reality it was still washin up to the top of the slip, and completely coming over the entire peir every wave- so I fished from down where the cars park, not ideal, but I wasn;t in the mood for a swim... Eefs opted to watch over precedings from the car..
I got off the mark with a double of coalfish and what I belive to be a shore rockling, correct me if I'm wrong..3 barbs, gap in dorsal fins....
Kept at it with the coalies, then changed to a pulleyt, as kept missin bites, and put it down to the short snoods on teh flapper... started gettin codlin, not huge, to half lb, but nice fish, greta condition on em...
Missed some great big bites... But packed in once the bait ran out.... No sooner was I in the car than a big rat ran over to where I had been fishin to see what I'd left him!
Off to Wexford town, bottle of powers, dvd and a rank chinese take away...

Sunday we were just faffin about, so Eefs suggested we get some Mack and go fishin.. what a lady!!!GOt some in tesco, not the freshest but to hell with it, it was mack of sorts.. decided on wicklow pier as felt it would offer some protcetion.... got there and the wind was blowin a gale, but outwards, so we fished the breakwater pier, with the wind behind us.. I had 4 doggies, 2 of them pups, no bigger than 8- 10 inchs... and Eefs go 2 doggies and a deecnt whiting oapprox. 25cm.... called it a day quickly as The wind was startin to blast the cold thru my waders and freeze the giblets off me.. Great to get out againg though, been too long, as I've been busy with earnin a crust...
tight lines folks....

good to see you got a few for your efforts man :P the rockling looks like a 5 beardy due to his colour man. 2 long barbules either side of his nose, one under his chin and 2 tiny small ones just under his nose above his top lip  . i know what you mean about the manky mack from the supermarket too. i've brought some back in the past as it was'nt fit for bait let alone human consumption
