Report:
Started the comp 10 mins late due to not preparing the 3 reels, 1 had birds nest and no leader 1 had brittle line and no leader and the other had the braid dug in so it only cast about 15 yards...... .got one of the reels up and running and within 45 mins had landed 2 doggies , things were looking good. was surprised at how close in they were taking the baits. things slowed down a bit with only the odd under-sized flounder and whitting being landed. then the rod nearly came out of the tripod, thought it was maybe a double of doggs but landed a nice codling of about 36 cms (my p.b ), decent wee scrap it put up. coalies and doggs were the main catch after this. and i got my first 5 bearded rockling ever. . all in i landed 9 counters and about the same again in under-sized fish so i was pretty pleased as i had no counters in the last comp

Well done Minty, thats a great result

well done minty ,but i hope you have learned to check you gear before you leave the house.saves valuable fishing time and a lot easier sorted in the house than on the beach.

Nice going Minty. Good result- sounds like a belter of a codling by my books (given my p.b. is around 10cm..... )

well done minty. It was a great comp. One of the best fishing beach comps ever. Its the first time I had counting whiting. I ended up with 24 counting fish and probably the same in non counters. I didnt have one flounder all session.

well done minty that beach is going well at the minute,i fished it sunday morning and got a couple crackers off it...tight lines...

nice fish there we fish it sunday and walk along the beach found 7 dogs flounders and rocking dead on the beach lots of weed in the sand.
we move to glenarm white rocks not to bad but rats were in close v close
