Report:Not much to report, tried a different part of the beach as it was too rough at the rocks and needless to say i wont be going back in a hurry to that particular spot. I got a nice coalie, 36cms , in close on the small rod early on and thought i was in for a good session, but that was to be it , not a sausage for the rest of the evening. Lost lots of tackle, was using cheapo weights etc so not too bad but it got to the stage where i was losing gear every second cast. I eventually gave up

would this be the sign of actually real size fish do the bigger coalies arrive,and to yhe same places the small ones are plentyfull

there was a spot on that beach when i used to fish competitions called the hungry acre it was aplace you lost loads of gears and caught f all. they stopped pegging at it. there used to be a gap of about 250yrds between the pegs at this spot i wonder is that where you were fishing ?

Could be wrong but I think the hungry acre is on the south beach

Thanks Sod, i thought there would be a few around,,,he took mack on a size 4 hook, had a job landing him with a dog trying his best to piddle on my bag at the same time

i always mix these two up its been 20yrs so youl have to forgive me it just sounded like the hungry acres when you discribed the conditions lost rigs no fish but at least you dident blank fair play

Well done eyes nice coalie there hope to catch a few myself in the next weeks ,there was a chap fishing way down to the left aswell yesterday and on saturday.He said there was 100 s of small octopuss and squid washed up on the greystones north beach,A possible reason for the lack of fish caught,And another possibility is that the north beach fishes better at night on a flooding tide.Either way much better than a blank

I only had 2oz leads left at the end Al, and they werent going to hold bottom in the tide, thats my weak excuse for giving up after 3 hours

Cheers, i saw that guy alright,and i agree its always good not to blank .I wont give up on that beach yet now that i know theres huss out there

no thats the south beach fished it once or twice had one great session on it ,was fishing it with liam o herne .Five good codling 2lb up to 3lb and lost 2 stonkers fished for two hours with nothing then like a switch turned on they came and then gone just as quick good day on the steps lads well done

beats a blank, youd think there would be a few more fishies in the rough

nice fish dave, see you got a new ruler, no fishing for me this week wifes orders , but i think i can live with that. the weather is lovely here in fuerteventura 25 degrees + be back sunday and raring to go
