short spell of that wet rain, mostly dry and windy
Bait:
Rag Mackerel & some kindly donated Lug
Rigs:
2 hook flappers
Results:
1 reasonable Whiting and a couple of more whiting/baby cod - all pretty small
Report:
Well, after buying the new Rod/Reel last week, I was absolutley itching to get out and give it a cast! So after putting up a post i was kindly directed to a south Dublin Beach by Aidan - cheers lad! I was more than pleased with the results for my first time out bait fishing properly. After setting up the two rods I waited and waited, rebaited and nothing. about 45 minutes passed, when I seen a headlamp of another angler coming towards me. Had a great chat about fishing and the usual website banter broke the Ice - i think it was sean or John - anyway - hope the rest of the night proved fruitfull for you! Also met a guy called stephen whos also on the site - have to say the two lads were full of advice! I landed a 24cm Whiting which for my first night out was good i supose. Thanks to John/Sean for the lug - worked a treat also - double whiting - which were tiny! at least the night wasnt blank!
Anyhow - was a great night - cannot wait to get out again!
Conor.

really lads, all this banter on getting (the wife) (the girlfriend) involved,in this age of sexual discrimination being totally wrong one would have to mention (the boyfriend) as well, or as is said nowadays(the partner), i know of one person who would be offended but i will leave it at that,ok mitch.

hi its great to see new bloods catching fish no matter what size they are, the fish and also the catcher, because what you put back today will always get bigger and of course is to-morrows fishing so keeep at it and it wont be long before you catch something some else threw back last year.

ive been putting them back for years

hope your next trip is more fruitful

hope the new rod holds up

Hi there Daminam,
Well done on the first winter night of fishing. Get yourself a good flask and some thermals and you can stay out in all weather. The only problem is when you start to see pin whiting in your sleep.
Cheers,
Stephen. (not the one from the beach in your report)
