People: Myself

Duration: 15:00-20:00

Tide: HW-17:30

Weather: Calm, overcast and drizzle later on

Bait: Mack ,rag ,crab & squid

Rigs:2 hook flapper

Results: One Whiting

Report:

Arrived at the beach around 15:00 and setup by stream. First two hours, was not much happening as there was plenty of weed, so was kept busy removing it and rebaiting. Still managed to get some spinning in. Once the tide began to turn the weed cleared, so my hopes were slightly higher. After a while got a whiting of about 30 cms-which is a record for me! Anyway he saved the blank. Later on, off course while as I was having a slash, I looked over my shoulder and could see the rod tip bouncing away like mad - so I quickly put the tackle away(pardon the pun) and ran over to the rod, took it in hand, striked, started reeling......but what ever it was, it was gone. Anyway, in my mind it was a Bass, so I feel that I am getting ever so close now to catching my first one!

here's to next time,
Steve

(Question - When fishing for Bass, would one be more inclined to strike straight away once they see the rod bouncing or to wait a little to try and allow fish to engulf the bait?)
