People: Me

Duration: 13.00 to 18.00

Tide: Incoming

Weather: Wet and Blustery

Bait: Lug and Sandeel

Rigs: various

Results: 1 Bass

Report: Got a green card on Sunday so off i took filled with great expectations :? Hit to a beach at low tide for a few fresh lug, we normally get monster lug off this mark,  Not a sign of one, quick rethink and headed to another known lug mark, :D happy days, every turn of the fork was throwing up good size lug. Left that mark and headed for a favorite fishing mark, within half an hour i was been blown around and the 'weedilus maximus' was all over the place, quick pack up and headed for a more sheltered beach near by. had just set up 2 rods and was in the process of setting up the 3rd and bang  the rod close in took a huge knock, AAAAGGGGHHHHH struck too soon  and missed, rebaited and cast to same spot, :D had a slack line bite and up popped a nice schoolie bass, :D thought this is great, thats where i should have been more pesimistic :? tried everything after that, fished the 3 rods at varying depths and distances, not another bite, strange because we normally get good flounder and doggies on this mark as well  oh well not meant to be but hey a blank was saved :D :D

Regards

Seamus

I fished that mark last night, big fronds of kelp at the wash of the tide but not a problem with the water. I was plagued with dogfish taking lug?? and lots of small whiting. I think I caught the same schoolie as you.[img][/img]

Conger, where would the fun be in catching Bass in those numbers, you may as well be Mackerel Bashing

I'd say there is a higher skill level is catching your schoolie on the west coast :(
