[b]Report headed off early to get a good day in for its being a while since my last trip out, started off at a wee pier thats well out of the way to try for a conger. got the conger rod set up and in place then set up another rod with a float, had great crack with the float rod, coalies were coming in thick and fast with the odd pollock, nothing big tho all were around the 1lb mark, then the click went on the conger rod, lifted in to him and the fight started, but he took some line and got back in

after around ten minutes of pulling and hauling at him i had no choice so i nipped the line for there was no way this one was coming up. so reset the rod and went back to the float, with in minutes the conger rod went again, locked the drag down tight and lifted in to him. he hit the scales at 12lb 2oz

. then moved to a rock mark, both rods were getting hit steady with coalies and pollock and i was starting to get a bit low on bait

so i started to pack up and head off to fahan, and on my last couple of casts i got a few mackerel

was glad to see them for i now had fresh bait for a go at the rays at fahan. got to fahan at 2.oopm low tide was at app; 5.oopm so got myself set up on the beach with both rods out at distance with pully rigs baited up with mak and squid, and hour and a half passed and not even a tap on the rods

so uped sticks and moved down the beach about another 100 yards, worked out a good move

on every cast the rods were nearly pulled off the tripod, i must have hit the mother load of doggies

as soon as i landed one the other rod went, it was great crack

but not one sign of the thornie's, at the end up i run out of bait so headed for home a happy camper
have pic's still on my camera, but when i go to view them it says unkown format

so when i get it sorted i'll get them up.
