10pm-1.30am
Tide starting flood
Lovely night, bit of surf
Pulley rigs,two hook flappers,flowing traces
Mack, Rag (THANKS FOR THE RAG MITCH!) and some squid we found that must've fell from the sky

!!!
Codling, Pollock and bucket loads of Dogs.
Was out with the two lads on the boats in Dalkey on Sunday but for only an hour and a half, got one mack, and 5 pollock between us, time was against, then we fish the west pier Dun Laoire for about 3 hours, we caught about 100 pollock, codling, pouting and whiting. The two boys who hadn't fished before decided they wanted to fish again the next day but for something bigger. Decided Monday to head out for dogs for something more rotund. No chance of anyone getting out of work for bait so I picked up 3 fillets of mack from superquinn on the way home,
Had a serious rig tying session in the house, then once darkness came we set off to Greystones. Met Mitch and some other mysterious character packing up when we arrived. Mitch donated us not some but all of his rag, thanks Mitch, hope I wasn't being to cheeky to ask!
We set up one rod each, the lads launching them out at various distances and various angles
We were into dogs straight away almost and steady after that, Bizarrely about 5 or 6 of the smallest dogs Ive ever seen, I should've kept them and sent em to the lads for the skate festival!
I put on a light rod with rag over the railing and was kept busy with mini pollock and a few codling. No Dab FFS!

GIMME A BREAK FISH GODS!
In all we had about 20 maybe more dogs, when we inevitably ran out of mack they were happily taking rag as were a few pollock. Great fishing, we didnt notice the time passing, only problem was no celebratory chipper after! Also the lads wern't big on holding the dogs so my hands were red raw!
Thankfully we had no furry visitors, I had a new lamp which must've scared them away, Im covered in bites though, dunno what thats from.
Anyone who has a problem catching dogs is crazy in my book, bring out a novice angler and watch how happy they are when they catch their first mini shark!
