People:mise,agus james, agus john.

Duration:3.30-10pm

Tide:high 6.10

Weather:lovely

Bait:lug, earthworms,sandeel,mack.

Rigs:all sorts

Results:mise 2 thornies 1 doggie,john 2 thornies,james 1 thornie

Report:It was all ireland day,so have to go fishing! :D not a gaa fan! so the tan,the jackeen and the culthie went fishing. The target species was thornback ray, and thanks to doug in the shore thing, the mark was in connamara, and is a very sweet mark,we were set up by three thirty, two rods each out into about 80ft of water in the channel, things were slow in the beginning but after about 45 minutes i got a knock on one of my rods and soon my first thornie off the year was on the bank 8) small but beautifully formed, james was facinated as he had never seen one before  but he is a newbie to sea fishing, half an hour later john was into one,new species for him too :lol:soon after i got the only doggie of the day,(gotta catch my namesake)john was disgusted,he was promised there were none at this mark :D :D things went quiet again for an hour, but my second thornie came soon after,on earthworm on a flounder rig i had tossed out on the lighter rod!bit bigger than the last one :D then john got his second, this fish put up a huge scrap and we were sure it was a biggie, but then he got snagged,he gave it line and left it for a few minutes, soon his line moved but as he brought it in he said "FISH GONE" but as his rig came in there was a smallish thornie on,he was a happy camper :D :D but i think that he had a double and one got off  tide was going out fast at this stage and james had not got a bite, but on the last cast as we were talking, his rod got a hit! and soon the biggest thornie of the day was landed, the smile on his face says it all. great day! the craic was mighty,we went for thornies and duly caught them, and the newbie caught the biggest!job done :D :D :D

Another nice report. Fair play t'you for the rod-hours and reports you've been putting in over the year, you surely deserve one of our elusive Mayo bass as a reward.... cant be lettin them Roscommon fellahs get too far above themselves, eh
