Report:Met my mate Scott through the week for the first time in ages and all we talked about was fishing. He would normally do a bit of boat fishing but I suggested a shore session and he was up for it. He never fished the mark before so I was hoping it didn't disappoint and it didn't. I was first in after around 5 minutes with the first dogfish of the day and that set the tone. Must have ended up with around ten dogfish between us in the first hour. Hoping to get a few other species we put the mackerel away and just used the ragworm. We had a quiet half hour spell or so and then the Pollock and Coalies came on the feed, no size to the fish really all under a pound but kept us entertained. Then I noticed a small bite on the rod but not enough to make the bells chime so I left it, 5 minutes later I lifted the rod and felt a bit of weight and after a surprisingly good scrap I landed a nice Plaice. Then the Wrasse started to make a show of themselves. Scott struck into a massive bite and was snagged, after around five minutes he hauled the fish out of the weed and landed the biggest fish of the day a lovely Wrasse. We had no scales between us but it was easily over 4 pound maybe even 5. Overall it was a great day, good to show someone a mark and it produce the goods.
