Report: Decided to do a spot of urban fishing after work with vinny.... decided the evening that was in it big evening tide no wind Mullet

so we headed to the first Galway city mark of the day and set up and we could see a handfull of Mullet just out of range so waited for the tide to subside a bit and hoped the Mullet would cruise the channel in front of us... but in the end they stayed out of reach bar the odd occasion when one would make shapes as if it was heading our direction only to turn away again.... i was surprised at how few fish were showing on the surface never seen it as quiet... we packed it in after 1.5hrs as we were wasting our time. So off to the 2nd mark in the heart of Galway to try and tempt some Huss... it turned out to be quiet here too

vinny was first off the mark with a doggie then another i managed to get one back then vinny was in again he then got another so 4 fish to 1 down (well he was using two rods

) i unleashed my secret weapon the rig of Doom

first cast and i got a rattle but nothing there so out it went again this time about 6ft out on to sand to see if anything was moving close in between the shingle and sand... a few mins later we were chatting away when i got a peculiar bite reeled in to find a silver eel on happy days another species off the list getting closer to my target of 30... vinny then got another doggie most of which were well fattened up and fought well, but still no Huss showing... so vinny pulled away again 5 fish to 2 we were on our last cast's when i got another strange bite reeled in a double shot of doggie and strap conger so back in the game 5 fish to 4 and you guessed it vinny got another doggie on his last cast

it seemed as if the fish were coming on the feed just as we were leaving as we were getting a lot of rattles but we the both of us up 06:30 we called it a day...
