Tide:HT 5.20pm
Weather:Windy and very wet for a while
Bait:Mostly lug, mack,sandeel
Rigs:Float,flapper, ledger,spin
Results:Me-2 Ballan Wrasse, Davy-2 Ballan Wrasse, 2 Pollack, 1 Conger
Report:Headed down to a mark I hadn't fished before with a pal Davy J. Armed with some freshly dug lug it wasn't long before Davy was into 2 small pollack. My first was a small Ballan just under 1lb and the second just over 1lb. Davy's best Wrasse was 1lb 8oz, the other probably about a 1lb. The surprise of the day came at about high tide when Davy (using light tackle) felt a small take. Thinking it was another small pollack he reeled in only to find great resistance. Swearing profusely at the kelp
he gave a big tug and up popped a 3ft conger writhing like crazy as he was wrapped up in the line. Davy got him onto the lower rocks only for the line to break and off he went! He must have taken the hooked fish as Davy began to retrieve it. Unfortunately no pics this trip as the weather was crap and the rocks like a skating rink

nice session fentster, hard luck to Davy with the conger, but at least he got it in and got a look at it...

Wel done & hard luck with the conger nothing worse than losing a good fish at the last minute.

I'm guilty of going to try and get this conger yesterday at the same mark after Fenster wrang me(with his permission I might add 
) But on arriving at the mark, found it very difficult even to stand up. The Conger rig, got snagged first cast, and as the wind was a howling gale, straight onshore, and I eventually gave up, even with the float with 1 small pollock to my name. The tide and wind was just tossed the ledger back into the rocks, even at 6oz. So I tried further out onto the sand with the beach caster and a break away. Result 1 small codling. What a difference a day and a weather forecast make. Mr C is still there, so I reckon Fenster and I will be back before long. Didn't think this was worthy of a seperate report, so sorry if I hi-jacked Fensters thread a bit
