People: Me, Brian & his missus
Duration: Around 4 hours
Tide: up and over hw
Weather: better than the forecast
Bait: rag, mack, squid
Rigs: rotten bottoms, 3 hook flappers
Results: Dab, Dog's, Tub Gurnard
Report:
1st time out in quite sometime and fancied somewhere different, so bearing in mind the predicted strong southerly winds and heavy rain we decided on the north facing side of the baily lighthouse.
The climb down was easier than expected (although brians missus may disagree

), but we arrived to find the wind howling round the headland and a fairly big swell. Got set up none the less, brian starting with a 3 hook flaper, me with a rough stuff rig baited with a big squid bait.
Wind was horrid where I was positioned, and the swell soon had my rig swept into the rocks below my feet.
Brian was off the mark on his 1st cast with a small tub gurnard...his 1st ever, so happy days there
Brians girlfiend had a go float fishing, but with the swell, and very mucky water it was to prove fruitless.
Nothing doing for me, baits getting striipped by the crabs, but brian got a dog shortly after his tub.
The rain never came thank god, so atleast we were dry even if the fishing wasnt great.
I finally got my 1st fish, a small dab, and brian got another dog, and it was soon decided to pack up and get a swift beer enroute home.
Great to try a new mark, and we'll defo be back when the weather is a little better.
A few pics below, but dont be fooled by the relatively calm looking sea.......it was anything but
