People:just myself!
Duration: 20:45 to 22:00
Tide: h.w 22:50
Weather:choppy southerly wind, rain holding off!
Bait:lugworm
Rigs: basic two snood rig
Results: one bass.
Report:had to drop my daughter to her mates today and my fork and bucket were conveniently in the boot of the car

.
so i dug lug for twenty minutes and sorted for a few hours fishing.
got to the mark and thought it would be unfishable as the wind was blowing hard in my face.
sod it i'm here now so rigged up with 4oz lead, not bothering with the griplead so the baits
could move about a bit, half expecting them to be washed in on top of me!
i must admit the surf had bass written all over it but marks 20 yards from here had failed me
with similar conditions.
i reconed it would be a short session so i loaded 3 to 4 lug on each of the hooks making a nice
juicy offering!
the rod was bouncing constantly and the first cast came back well tampered with, crabs in this surf!!! how brave of them.
anyway second cast and bang, i was in to a nice fish, not huge but gave a good scrap in the surf, i could see the silver all the way in.
typically i left my camera at home but managed a quick pic on my mobile and back he went,
probably shy of 2lbs but nice to get a bass down the road without the mileage of the wicklow/wexford marks.
cast out again missing a good bite, ah well that's fishing and i was already happy
next two casts resulted in major slack line bites as i put the rod down to light a fag.
this resulted in major weed so bad that i had to hand haul the line in, losing the fish and the rest of the session i spent removing the weed clumps in order to reel in my line.
time to hit the road as it was well dark by now and i was well soaked from the pounding
waves and i didn't fancy risking a fall if i had to return another fish!
still some lug left so i might head out again tomorrow
