I was told by someone to use the edge of a shakespear box to offset the point of aberdeens away from the shank for increased hook ups for dogs Anyone any comments of the success of this tactic.

some people swear by this for all species not just dogs.

donagh,, i offset all my hooks it makes a marked improvement, esp. with the bass, i bend em to the side up to size 2/0, above that i bend em back inwards, bit like a semi circl.. it makes a v. big difference when the fish hit the bait and run, ya get a lot more hook ups. right in the sissors......................

use circles for the doggies,good for hookups,and nearly always hooked in the sissors
