offseting hooks for dogs

I was told by someone to use the edge of a shakespear box to offset the point of aberdeens away from the shank for increased hook ups for dogs Anyone any comments of the success of this tactic.

donagh,, i offset all my hooks it makes a marked improvement, esp. with the bass, i bend em to the side up to size 2/0, above that i bend em back inwards, bit like a semi circl.. it makes a v. big difference when the fish hit the bait and run, ya get a lot more hook ups. right in the sissors...................... :P

use circles for the doggies, good for hookups, and nearly always hooked in the sissors
