More mullet caught from the Lough - 14/08/09

People: Me and K2
Duration: 2.5 hours
Weather: Warm & cloudy
Tide: On the flood, over high and down to low
Rigs: Float
Bait: Bread
Result: 1 mullet for K2 (again!

K2 and myself fished the same mark that we have been over the past few weeks.
When we arrived at our location, Davy Murdoch also turned up to fish as well.
We all looked for a short while first to see if there was many fish about and after seeing quite alot of them coming in with the tide and taking the bread K2 and myself had thrown in we all decided that we had seen enough and got our gear on and went down and started to fish.
Davy went on to another area at the same mark to fish while K2 and myself went to the same place we have been catching our fish over the last few days and weeks.
When we first got there we scanned the water and we could see straight away that there was a good number of fish hanging around in front of us and so we began our session, throwing bread in to keep them close and in the one place.
Half an hour after having a fish on and it coming off taking the hook with it, K2 caught his fish.
Again, taking bread which had been slightly sunk under the surface, the fish gave a good fight before it was netted and brought to dry land for a quick picture and then released.
I had a couple of good bites during the session but mullet being mullet as soon as I struck at all, the hook came out of the water with no bread on and no fish hooked much to my frustration.
The night before, I had managed to hook into a fish but after it being on for approx. ten seconds or so, it just shook it's head and got off. Tom H had seen this and was on the way over with the net but sadly it wasn't needed
We fished on for a while but the fish where on the move and not as many where about and so we headed down to where Davy was fishing.
We couldn't have been there anymore than ten minutes and he was into one, this was his second of the night. Great! Everyone had caught but me
aww well, I'll just have to keep on going and hopefully I'll catch one again soon.

Thanks Paddy, as you can imagine, K2 is rubbing it in big time about how he has caught more mullet than me this season.
His head is way bigger than any fish he has caught so far ha!ha! Well, maybe expect for the huge one he caught a couple of weeks ago.
P.S. he is the one who keeps encouraging me to stick at it or I would have gave up a long time ago
