short mullet hunt 13/08/09

time: 13:30-14:20
Tide: on the flood, only creepin over the mudflats
weather: calmm, overcast
Rigs: float..
Bait: Maggots

Had bought a pint of maggots to try poach a mullet or 2 off poolbeg last night, but had been too busy with the great whites(see other report) so tried today. Only got to do a short try , as had promised my neice a trip to see ' aliens in the attic' at 2thirty...
There was plenty of fish about, so I'd stalk ahead of them, then plop the float out bout 10 yards ahead of their path.. swimmin right past, but no joy.. had the float go under twice, but no hookups..
Gonna try them again tomorrow, with bread and maggots.. If no look then- it;s dynamite the next day...
