Mick; 1 Thornback Ray, 1 Tub Gurnard, 1 Coalfish, 2 Plaice, 1 Flounder, 3 Dab, 4 Dogfish
Report:This was a trip to seek out a few new species this year but we never expected such a number

gurnard and plaice were on the wishlist, Mick was the first to hit the jack pot with the first plaice and then I managed a lovely Tub Gurnard, I'd caught red gurnards before but these tubs really are pretty with the blue edges to their (pectoral?) fins
At this point we thought great mission accomplished and could have gone home quite happy but we then managed to add Dab to our species list, I now have 20 this year so far
as the tide hit high things went quiet for about 30 min giving mick a chance to enjoy his flask of coffe but then all rods went mad again and we were constantly pulling in fish and baiting up, so much for a relaxing evenings fishing, it was great

at times we couln't even get one rod baited again before the other was hopping off the stand. Those flat fish really do give a good bite from deep water compared to on the beach
To finish the evening with a conger from the deep dark depths and give a combined species count for the evening of 10 really was satisfying
