Report:
I took delivery of my new Super Mix 270 ( Cheers Padge ) so I had to go and put her through a few trials. Baz and I followed Pat to the location that had no action before we arrived. Water clarity still was not great, although with the high pressure and the wind slackening it was an improvement over the last week and should be excellent for the week end!! Happy Days.
Pat was first into a Bass on his trusty albeit battered Xlayer ! at about 40 yards range, put a nice bend in his rod form what I could see and did a little dance for him close in. A picture and back into to the water with you Billy. A short time later he had a little Pollock follow his Xlayer which eventually took it at his feet, aggressive little chap!
I got hit on the Minnow 120 but didn’t hook up this time.
Quite then for a while as we moved around searching for the feeding fish, Pat headed off home to the war office, while Baz and I ventured on.
I found a nice looking spot and within minutes I got smashed on the Xlayer hard on the bottom. Not a big fish put he knew how to scrap! Took a few mins to land him due to his head shaking antics, full of red bull I reckon! Picture an on he went.
Baz had a Pollock pluck at his Xlayer for a couple of seconds before smashing it and diving hard, these are some baby’s to go on tight gear. Fish landed picture taken an on he went. We finished up soon after that after Baz took some water over the Bow !
Just a little note on the Super Mix 270, its so thin and light its crazy, its so sensitive, you can feel every little feature as you dance your soft plastic over the sea bed (that’s what the rod is aimed at) but don’t be fooled by the appearance, its got plenty of power down the blank.
Light, responsive with plenty of power......If this rod was a car it would have a Type R badge on it !
It’s going to be a good week end!
