LFSAC comp

Wed Aug 05, 2009 9:44 pm

People: me and 3 others (poor turnout but its a new club)

Date :2-8-09

Venue:roe estuary

Duration: 7.30pm-11pm( we stopped at 10.30pm)

Tide:high then out for 2 hours

Weather:very nice for a change

Bait:me, all i had time to get was frozen crab, lug, sandeel and bluey

Rigs:3 hook flapper with bling and 2 hook boom

Results:me 2 flounder@ 26cm and 21 cm

Report:quick report , not much to say as the fishing was bad, lots of crab activity so fish baits didnt last long, lots for weed too, first fish i didnt know was on as weed covered it, and after getting fed up with the weed i dropped rig close and got second flounder. There was an undersize flounder and a 31cm eel caught and a large flounder dropped. So i won with two small flounder, at least it makes up for the blank last time

As Martin said the fishing was really bad. Think part of the reason was the tide. Think this venue fishes better down to low water when you can access the sand below the bolders. The weed was a nightmare and so was the crabs. Fair played to you Martin for getting 2 fish and getting on the scoreboard.
