People: Me, Daniel & rachel
Duration: 9:00 - 11:00
Tide: High at 10:00
Weather: Bright & Breezy
Bait: Frozen Mackeral & rag (Worst rag I've ever bought)
Rigs: 2 hook flappers
Results: Lots of Ballen Wrasse, 1 Corkwing, 1 Rockling, 1 Shanny & 1 Doggie.
Report:
I finally gave in to Rachel's pestering and let her join Daniel & myself at the Dee.
The kids both fished close in for wrasse. I fished mackeral on a 2 hook flapper tight against the North Breakwater for Doggies (to give me time to act as Ghillie).
We were into fish straight away and they came fairly constant over the next two hours & plenty of bites which we didn't hit.
Rachel got 3 wrasse & a Shanny (her first "proper" fishes! LOL).
Only two gripes:
1. The rag were by far the worst I've ever bought. I won't tell you where I got them as usually the standard is excellent. They were very small (not actually a bad thing) and 90% were dead. They slid down the hook like frozen black lug! I was hoping to save some for a second trip tonight but I ended up dumping what was left over.
2. Had my line cut by a boat! A big flash gin palace. There were lots of ribs coming and going but they all gave us a wide berth. The big cruiser couldn't have got closer to us if he'd tried.

Nice to see ya's got a few at the Dee. Hate those rude guys in those cruisers, I have seen it myself down there, the harbor mouth is large enough but yet they hug tight to the wall at times!

It was a seriously big lump of a thing. It came in just after we arrived. Fortunately I hadn't the doggie rod out as it came within about 30ft of the wall.
I wasn't so lucky when it was leaving. I had just sent a nice cast over close to the North Breakwater when it appeared from around the corner and again sailed past about 15 yards out. It was flying an Aussie flag and there was a family group of about 10 on board.
If I'd seen him earlier I could have got Daniel to pelt him with old mackeral!!! The boy's got a good arm! LOL

Sounds like it was a good session, despite the boat!
Hoping to get a run down myself tonight, once all the kids are safely tucked up
