People:me

Duration:7.00-10.00pm

Tide:falling

Weather:warm with heavy thunder showers

Bait:spinners & jelly lures

Rigs:spinners & jelly lures

Results:more fish than you could count

Report:Got parked up and walked the 15min over the headland in the warm evening sun, arrived on the rocks and had 3 fish in the first 5 casts things were looking good.
Then a very heavy thunder and lightening shower moved in from nowhere and came close so I decided to put down the rod and take shelter, still got completely soaked but fished on when the storm ended, the sun dried me out, a bit. lots of small 3/4lb pollack, one at 1.5lb, the 6 coalfish were all about 1lb and even a dozen mackeral for the bait freezer   Tried the jelly lures and caught my first fish on jelly  must have been using too heavy a weight as I lost a few too

You were lucky you left when you did.....

I was fishing down at the bottom of the sheephaven ( 1 tiddly sea trout, released) when the thunderstorm passed over about 9.30 -10.00 pm. Dropped the rod asap and took shelter - not a good idea to be out on flats holding what amounts to a lightning conductor during an electrical storm!

.... anyhoo, it moved off down your way/onto Fanad direction, and seemed to hang around there. I had a spectacular view of some lightning strikes on Downings.
