Results:After a hectic day at work I'd arranged to meet Davy and Fenster at in belfast lough, but after a couple of unsuccessful sessions there lately a quick change of mark saw us taking a 15 min dander along the shoreline in search of feeding mullet.
On the way out to the mark we passed over massive areas of mud with visible feeding marks on the surface. On approaching the waters edge there were quite a few fish moving through following the incoming tide, Fenster stopped to throw out a few rounds of mouldy bread and alot of fish appeared to be coming up and nudging it but not feeding confidently. We gave this area about 30mins but with no bites the 3 of us split up about 400m apart in search of a shoal of feeding fish. about an hour past and still nothing, and by this stage we'd all got back together in the one area.
Davy was feeding bread in and a few fish were milling around so Fenster and I snuck in 70m down tide of him making full use of the free ground bait

, there were a few fish feeding in the shallow water 8-10 inches deep just cruising up and down, I was casting uptide of the fish and letting the bait swing around in front of them, trying to induce a bite, just as one of the fish swam past my bait it turned quickly and sucked down the floating bread, as soon as I stuck I knew it was a good fish as it thrashed around in the shallow water, it didn't really fight that hard just sort of slowly taking line as it headed to deeper water, but after 5 minutes it was close enough to net, only then did I realise just how big it was when i saw it in the net.
A quick weigh, measure and identification photos and it was back in the water, after a minute or two holding it in the tide and away it went swimming strongly, 6lb 2oz so specimen number 2 for me this week

and a personnal best as well.
