Weather: Sunny, bright, light N with a hint of a nip in it.

Bait: Feathers, Mackerel

4 Poor Cod
1 Ballan Wrasse
1 Female Cuckoo Wrasse

Report:
Caught only 1 mackerel but made the most of it!
Baited the feathers with small strips from the mackerel and dropped the feathers to the bottom.
Lots of bites and managed to add two more Species to my List!

a very memorable spot for a group of us that fished there last year or so.
great report ross, i would recommend this spot as a must fish area.
we fished low tide rising and had enormous results.

That old spot looks familiar.... Used to love fishing there, down to the right hand side. Past couple of times I've been out that direction and thats a while ago, (if its the spot Im thinking of, cliffs to the left, flat slab of rock to the right with a little channel through the rocks for access?) all I've seen are no trespassing signs. Are there issues with access as its been about 4 years since I last fished it and would love to do so again.

nearly all wrasse caught end up with their bum sticking out a bit like that. Kevin who has the
boat in spiddal, was telling me he was asked to collect some wrasse for some aquarium, galway
i think, and they exhibited this phenomenon when caught, but returned to normal and lived
happily in the aquarium, so it doesn't seem to harm them

nice one ross the cuckoo wrasse must have been a bonus for you

The water was deep but as jw says wrasse will often have this protrusion. I have seen it with wrasse caught from shallow and deep water. They seem to go back without any problem.
With regard to access there is a problem with parking along the road. A lot of holiday homes have wired or roped off the front to prevent parking. I have a friend who allows me to park outside his house where there is a triangular sign for "Ross" on the wall.
I involves a bit of a walk to the mark but well worth it. You could park at the Bridges of Ross but that is a much longer walk.
If you want to fish this area pm me and I will arrange parking for a small group.
I think this area has enormous potential for any angler willing to put in the time.
