Report:Not too much to report here lads, was very slow fishing as my last couple of sessions have been. Anyway we arrived at painted rock and we setup two rods each. I cast out a 3 hook flapper at distance with one rod and done a bit of spinning with the other. After a few casts on the spinning rod i hooked into something decent very close in, seen a silver bar in the water and thought for a split second i had a bass on but when i got it to the surface i was surprised to see a mullet had took my krill lure!! Thats a first for me, hooking a mullet on a spinner. The scrap was short-lived as in typical mullet fashion it threw the hook.

At least this was something to get excited about. Another couple of casts and i hooked into my first mackerel of the season. Another 2-3 casts later i was in again, another mackerel which fell off as i was lifting him out of the water.

I thought great we'll have a bit of sport with the macks but it wasn't to be. Tommy then saved a blank with a doggie. I fished this mark in June last year and had great sport with plenty of wrasse and pollock. I really hope the fishing picks up soon. Good not to blank all the same.
