Weather:Factor 50
Bait:
Rigs:Feathers and jellies
Results:Not a sniff of a mackerel but some nice pollack.
Report:
With the sea and weather conditions just for this mark it was time to drag out the shore gear and head west in search of mackerel and pollack.
The first few casts produce a few small pollack around the pound mark.
A change of rig was called for so orange jellies I got from Petekd who in turn got from Mickyfish were set up on a 3 hook paternoster rig, orange top and bottom and a green in the middle for verity. First cast and the Daiwa bass rod was buckled over and the pollack was heading for the kelp. First decent fish landed was about 4lb. plenty more followed with some over the 5lb mark.
John, a good pollack man in his day, kept weeding out the small ones.
The only down side was not one mackerel was caught.
