People:just me

Duration:8-10pm

Tide:full in

Weather:flat calm

Bait:rag

Rigs:addapted feathers (i know what the f..k)

Results: 11 ballen wrasse to 45cm, 3 corkwing wrasse, 1 small pollock and 1 lost and confused whiting

Report: originally went down with the inttentions of hammering a few mackerel, sadly after an hour spent on sorrento point and nothing to show for my efforts i decided a move and change of tactics was in order. after finding a few rag on the rocks i set off and pondered with the intentions of fishing an old spot i hadnt been too in years near hawk cliff. after a short walk and a bit of rock hopping i found a lovely gulley about 15foot deep judging by my shockleader. of cource my main problem was that i had no rigs or hooks, or a scissors for that matter. so after a bit of thinking and pure genius, i rubbed the feather off the hook so i could thread a worm on. the power of abbrassion! :D :D next step was closing up the rediculous gape, so after a bit of firm pressure the gape closed up to a respectable size.
first drop down lead to a tentitive bite, not really wrassy. sure enough a bloody whiting popped up, a confused 'ok' came to mind? next drop a small crokwing, and after a few more small wrasse the bigger fish came on to the feed. a couple of nice wrasse around 2lbs put up a great scrap heading down into the kelp, soon i got hit by a steam train, he went to ground after striping about 5 yards of line. a bit of firm pulling later lead to a beautifully mark fish measuring 45cm on the rule, didnt have a scales but i'd say about 3 and a quarter, maybe 4lbs at a push. getting him up the rocks and releasing him was a fight in its own  a few more fish follwed and finally a small mini pollock on my last cast ended the trip nicely. it nice went when spontaneous decisions come to plan. doesn't happen often mind you! :P

Nice one Eric, its always good when these kind of impromptu change in tactics work out. 8) I must pick your brain one of these days about your local marks.
