Me

Tide just about in

8-10.30

Rag, feathers

Beautiful weather

One hook mini rigs and mini two hook flappers

6 Rockling (wasn't counting the beards), 4 ballan wrasse (new species woop woop), 1 pouting (this fellah had one beard, new species woop woop)

Quite a fishy weekend all in all, Sat. went camping in Lough Dan in Wicklow, managed two brown trout floating a worm, not bad considering I only put the rod out for the craic, ate one-it was not nice. Sunday morning in the car and on to Leitrim for pike, Spent a couple of hours in the evening on Lough Mc Hugh spinning, nothing but weed and midgy bites. Up at the crack of down out to a "secret lake", out on the boat and marooned ourselves on an island ledgering mack and spinning, the "secret" is that it was too hot for pike. The entire water was bubbling all morning with trout, roach etc gorging on flies. In the car at two and back in the big smoke for 4.

Such a nice evening so had to go and see if I could bash a mack, Hit Superquinn to see if I could get some mack but I walked out with a small fillet of salmon, why not! I read on here somewhere that it worked ok!!!!!!

Arrived in Dalkey, Colliemore was packed, considered getting the boat out to the island but decided against it. Went down to the rocks at Sorrento, was packed too all the bashers jostling for position, Found a little perch and cast out a mini rig , with a tiny bit of salmon, right down the rock and then feathered away. I had seriously light gear, a telescopic carp rod, a kids telescopic rod I got in Argos 3 years ago and my trout spinning rod!

After a couple of lads left, I got a spot on the top rock and a young lad kindly donated a handful of rag, first time using rag, forgot about the pincers, nip! Wriggly fellahs but lovely and bloody.

Put one hook, straight down at my feet and the two hook about 30 yards out into rock. Carried on with the feathers, pretty constant after that, my first ballan wrasse right in close. The bashers didn't appreciate my celebrations, I only saw one fish landed the whole evening, one small pollock, no mack. Got a rockling next and what a wrestle on the light rod, great sport, had four more one small but the others ok, more wrasses in close and out farish. As I was reeling in to go home found a pouting on the line, another new species. Go me!

And the young lad left leaving his big bag of rag, so theyre all frozen at home! wooh!

Where do I sign up for mini's anonymous, cant get enough of those minis

Thanks salty, have to amend my signature again!
Shamoo, all I know is worms and my fridge do not coincide peacefully so everything, lug included go in the freezer, the minis love the mushy stuff.

Good work, you got a nice mix of species there. I think I might need to sign up for 'Minis Annomous' myself, it can be great fun on light gear alright and an added bonus when you get a decent one.

Eric, I owe you one, I'd a great session, I'd say the arms are sore after them 1000 or so casts! Eh....  I have your grip lead! Your towel must still be on the rocks, I'll meet you for a session and I can give it back with some of your rag on ice! cheers for that.

As for the fridge....No women to blame, just the 4 hungry lads I live with and limited beer space.
