Another Kilteery Pier session - May 20, 2009 Limerick

Thu May 21, 2009 11:43 am

People: Me, Gabriel, Dennis & Albert

Duration: 20:50 - 23:30

Tide: very low

Weather: mild and bit chilly

Bait: squid / mack

Rigs: 2 / 3 hook flappers

Results: (3) Dab, (7) Whiting - No new specimen :( same old same old

Report: Due to the regular activity I do, like forum postings / readings, buying gears, showing pictures. I was able to get a couple of lads (Dennis & Albert) interested in angling. They tagged along with me and Gabriel. It was a great weather last night for fishing except for the very low tide. We had to cast further to get some depth. It was an overall good session while trying a couple of suggestions I got yesterday from members here. Used a couple of chemical lights, elastic band for my mack bait and it did held the flesh. Great tips were very helpful from members. :D

We are all looking forward to the next session. Unfortunately no new specimen, If I still don't get new specimen in the next week in Kilteery Pier. I might try new marks.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

well done on getting the other 2 lads out with you

i would say you mean species instead of specimens!

get the species numbers up first then you can try for the specimens

Thanks.

That is exactly what I mean. I am not sure what the singular form of Species is that is why I thought its specimen. I forgot we have another meaning for Specimen in angling lingo.

nice to see you and the wee man are getting out so often wabs :P . if you keep at it you'll not be too long in knocking up the species tally  . thats what we did when we first started out. and by law of average, the more you get out the more chance you have of getting a few new species :P . well done again and good luck on the species hunt 8) 8) 8)
